Unveiling an Unique Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Turdy Character on a Quest to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and gamers have found a variety of entertaining indie games. However, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled platformer includes a character that is actually a dung trying to navigate to a restroom. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."

How you interact is straightforward: press a jump control. In one hundred fifty levels, battle mini-bosses and access a market to purchase customizations for your poop character.

Plan your movements with caution, since one mistake forces starting over. Leap using bubbles to hurl yourself to new heights, cross crumbling surfaces, and interact with buttons to open hidden paths. Collect coins for buying tougher levels where things ramps up.

Visually, the demo shows off neon environments and catchy music score. Its minimalist visual style with morphing abstract forms evokes memories of gamers of beloved games like Earthbound.

While it's hard to think of other games where you control a coiled turd, gaming often included fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players make throwables from protagonist droppings. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize dung as plant food. And of course, such content appears a lot in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its goofy premise, Unko Technica has already received significant recognition, including winning at a major publisher's indie contest in 2023. The demo is accessible now on Steam, with the full game set to debut on PC on November 19.
