The outfielder previously helped the Astros winning the World Series in 2017.
The Toronto Blue Jays earned a spot in their first championship series after 1993 by beating the Seattle Mariners in the decisive Game 7 of the AL Championship Series.
Behind three runs to one, Springer hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning, propelling the sole Canadian team in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 series triumph in the series. They will now face the defending champions, the team that is the defending champions, in the upcoming Fall Classic.
"I'm thrilled for our team, the city, the nation," commented Springer, a key player of the Astros team that won the 2017 championship. "What an amazing experience."
The veteran has now connected for 23 total post-season home runs, placing him third on the list trailing only Ramirez (29) and Altuve (twenty-seven).
"There's probably not another player in the world that I'd prefer in that spot other than Springer with his October magic," noted Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
Seattle's team, despite leading the series 2-0 and 3-2, are still the one club never to appear in a Fall Classic.
Wilson said "without a doubt that it hurts" in the wake of his club's elimination at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but applauded their efforts this season.
"It's a special team. Unfortunately that we finished on the losing end of this one," he added.
The Blue Jays secured the title on their two prior appearances in 1992 and 1993, and will welcome the Los Angeles in game one on the upcoming Friday.
