The cartoon adventure film KPop Demon Hunters, that Netflix dropped without much notice this past summer, has become 2025’s biggest phenomenon. Sony, showing little confidence, licensed the movie to the streamer during development, and like many Netflix Originals without a built-in fanbase, it arrived quietly. Excellence won out: KPop Demon Hunters rose to become the platform’s most-watched film with predictions pointing to sweep the 2026 Oscars in animated feature and best song categories. Yet before that, it’s targeting total Halloween domination.
Drawing from the myriad costumes sported by musical acts Huntr/x (“Huntrix”) and the Saja Boys in the movie, the trend seemed predictable. However, only after attending one of Netflix’s sing-a-long events with audiences young and old belted out the hit single “Golden” did I fully grasp: Yes, this is real. KPDH personas are set to invade local neighborhoods during Halloween evening.
A brief Etsy search reveals the KPDH costume economy operating at peak capacity. Inexpensive Baby Saja wigs are flying off shelves on Chinese platforms like AliExpress. Everything you’d imagine is available, even comfy Derpy the blue tiger outfits. But Netflix itself deserves credit: While the company may not have predicted the KPop craze before release, Netflix’s own shop is loaded with premium outfits and collectibles, plus one item so absurd it merits a mention.
Goodness
Retailing for under $40, available in extra-small to double-extra-large, the KPop Demon Hunters “Abby Saja Abs” T-shirt features a startlingly precise depiction of the demon boy band member’s eight-pack. If you wear this on Halloween, anticipate onlookers doing double-takes.
The main issue for KPop Demon Hunters fans is if those wanting outfits can assemble their looks in time. The official Netflix Shop promises items in under two weeks, with expedited shipping cutting it to 3–5 days. That’s ample time—for now. Given customs fees and postal holdups rendering Chinese site deliveries unreliable, Netflix might be the most dependable option unless an Etsy seller guarantees delivery within 27 days.
Still, seasoned cosplayers insist: There’s time to craft it yourself! Social media tutorial makers are producing how-to guides nonstop. Frankly, the Abby Saja abs look might equal the KPDH equivalent of a cringey vintage T-shirt—more toe-curling than knee-slapping. We’ll have to wait and see. For a safer choice, try a homemade Rumi wig instead.
