The Renowned Musician Urges Backing to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A charity drive is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign seeks to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It occupies a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The song was recorded after a major charity concert held in late summer. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The diverse array of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a group of acclaimed names from the industry. All took part in the benefit event, which managed to collect a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of music creators. The single features a combination of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The group managing the initiative have stated that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These resources will be allocated to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a spokesperson commented. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Naturally, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the area was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of infrastructure reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a couple of million won't make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is primarily making this cause better known and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The song is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
