The Grisly Cartoon Film Ending That Haunts Audiences

Among every adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve ever viewed, no other has lingered in my mind as much as the terror-laced conclusion of the graphically gory and overwhelingly transgressive 2022 movie Unicorn Wars.

In the year 2015, the Spain-based filmmaker crafted a grim, bleak , often savage world with some tiny , forlorn hints of hope.

While The Unicorn Wars appears as it came from an impulse to advance animation even more, the filmmaker explained that it was actually an attempt to communicate a widespread, cross-cultural message regarding “the shared root of each battle.”

That idea is communicated via a band of vividly colored bears , obviously inspired by a famous series of cuddly figures.

Growing up in a society built around warmongering as well as the war machine, a lot of these animals are obsessed with slaughtering unicorns, thanks to a holy book that claims them they were once masters of the woods, until these creatures expelled them.

Others have not completely fallen for the brainwashing, , prefer to try out drugs and fornicate in the forest.

In contrast to their cuddly counterparts, these bright beings show genitals , definite libidos.

For one particularly cruel, skeptical animal, Bluey, the battle against unicorns becomes a path to control — and specifically to dominance above his gentler, nicer brother the character Tubby.

The character behaves aggressively and an apparent sociopath , and as fear overcomes his group and takes his fellow soldiers sequentially, he seizes increasingly influence personally, in increasingly gory, damaging approaches.

At the same time, these mythical beings are suffering their own nightmare, through a spreading, harmful creature in their forest.

“At the beginning, it seems like a humorous movie,” the filmmaker stated. “But then it turns into a more intense and sorrowful film. And ultimately, it becomes a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars begins similar to one of the most quirky features by a renowned filmmaker, that discover a naughty glee in allowing cartoon characters swear, fire weapons, or have intimate relations.

Afterward it becomes more akin to a darker movie by that same director, featuring progressively visual gore , a palpable link to genuine tragedy of war.

In the finale, it is a full-on theatrical horror bloodbath.

The horror which makes the film an ideal spooky-season watch begins well before than indicated.

The Unicorn Wars is ideal for the most dedicated gorehounds, for enthusiasts of graphic films who want to see something they have not watched previously, and who can handle a plot that pulls unflinching brutality.

View it in a dimly lit space without any distractions, and the conclusion will burrow deep within you and linger.
