Former Doctor Accused of Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities report that a ex- physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.

The Grave Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior prosecutor said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Offences

The charging documents outline the forty-five charges comprise:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police have asked anyone with concerns to contact the relevant police force.
