Passionate supporters of the pop star are calling for that a man who leaped a barricade and touched the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.
A widely shared footage reveals the individual from Australia pushing past camera operators and charging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a yellow carpet flanked by fans.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the gathering by guards.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being detained", though legal records showed that he was scheduled to appear on the next day. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed includes videos of him interrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney show in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last winter.
"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is obviously a legal violation," wrote an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.
"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user questioned.
Numerous followers accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the finale of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding many.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote one more response on Instagram.
A number of fans also faulted guards at the gathering for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals requested online networks to remove Mr Wen's uploads.
In footage shared widely, Grande looked shocked when she was touched by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.
Grande has not commented on the situation, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.
Hundreds of fans had assembled in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore mall, including several who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it began.
The motion picture, to be launched on 21 November, is the second of a two-film version of the popular theatrical musical Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely bond between two contrasting characters.
The musical itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.
They were joined by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful film of the previous year in the UK, and received 10 Academy Award nods, securing a pair for best costume and set decoration.
