Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Claims Involving Player the Athlete

The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening stating they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.

The organization omitted the name of Rice by name in their statement and said they would have โ€œno further comment at this timeโ€.

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.

Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles

Rice was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

On the field, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
