Cars in German City Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Officers reported they were contacted by a resident who found a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Approximately fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a release.

Officers say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then located numerous other smeared cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report preliminary tests show the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; authorities are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the public for tips.

A senior political figure said the attack left him stunned and needed to be addressed promptly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the death of nine people by a shooter aiming at residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
